Mom Bux — Privacy Policy

Effective date: 17 July 2026

Mom Bux is a family chore-reward app. Parents track each kid's balance on iPhone; kids earn and spend "Mom Bux" on their Apple Watch. This policy explains what the app does — and does not — do with data.

The short version

What data exists and where it lives

All app data — the activity catalog, the ledger of earn/spend entries, and balances — is stored on your Apple devices and synced through Apple iCloud (CloudKit) under your own Apple ID. It never passes through any server we control.

Encryption keys

Each kid has a random 256-bit key generated on-device. Keys are stored in the device Keychain and are shared between a kid's watch and the parent's iPhone only by scanning the pairing QR code locally. Keys are never uploaded and never leave your devices.

Camera

The iPhone camera is used solely to scan the pairing QR code shown on a watch. No photos or video are captured, stored, or transmitted.

Children's privacy (COPPA)

Mom Bux is designed for families. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children — or from anyone. No personal information is required or gathered, and there are no ads, no analytics, and no third-party tracking.

Your control over data

Because your data lives in your own iCloud, you control it. You can remove a kid on the iPhone, reset a balance on the watch, and delete the app; clearing the app's data from your iCloud removes the synced records.

Third parties

None, other than Apple iCloud/CloudKit, which is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above.
